Upgrades and retrofits
Making security smart
Turn outdated into innovative
Transform an outdated burglar alarm into an intelligent security system. Outdated yet usable security devices and Ajax solutions can become a single budget-friendly system and bring modern security features to a site. There is no need for complete rewiring of the facility: Ajax wired devices can use an existing wire infrastructure, while wireless devices supplement the configuration with minimal installation time. Users get enhanced security, data-rich notifications, automation scenarios, and a whole new level of control via Ajax apps.
Challenges
Waste of functioning opening detectors with reed switches, PIR detectors, fire detectors, etc.
Lack of alternative communication channels and 2G/3G networks shutdown
Complete rewiring in case of the wired security system upgrade
Outdated interfaces and hard-to-use system control tools
Ajax solutions
New life of an old wired alarm
It is a common situation when an old wired setup is still capable of protecting the property but is clearly outdated. Retrofitting with Ajax solutions does not require leaving it behind. There is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way to build a modern security system based on existing wired devices thanks to Ajax integration modules. They are specifically designed to connect third-party detectors to the Ajax system, including perimeter IR detectors, household gas sensors, thermostats, float sensors, keypads, and more. Connect the available devices to an Ajax hub via integration modules and manage the combined security system via desktop and mobile apps.
Integration of individual devices as well as large-scale systems of more than 100 detectors
KeyArm feature for integrating third-party control devices
Informative push notifications about all system events from Ajax apps
Security control via mobile and desktop apps
An integration with the Ajax system will breathe new life into the devices already installed at a facility and improve the capabilities of new ones. Once integrated, these devices can be managed and configured remotely using Ajax apps. Professionals will have access to remote configuration, real-time device status, and scenario setup. At the same time, end users will receive push notifications about alarms and events and be able to manage security modes within the app. The unrivaled Ajax user experience will extend to third-party devices.
Flexible security management of an entire facility or separate groups
Quick pairing of wired devices to the system with automatic EOL resistance measuring
Easy user account management and privacy control
Comprehensive ecosystem with video surveillance and automation
Upgrading with Ajax solutions makes third-party devices a part of an intelligent ecosystem, which offers numerous options for easy scaling. Ajax solutions for intrusion protection, video surveillance, water leak prevention, and fire detection can enhance the existing setup and operate as a unified force to protect users and facilities. In turn, Ajax smart home devices can help automate comfort by monitoring air quality and controlling appliances and lighting.
Video and photo verification of alarms with Ajax cameras and MotionCam detectors
Appliances and lighting control through Ajax apps as long as there is an internet connection
7 seconds to shut water off by command or automatically whenever a leak is detected
Always online via cellular network
Many outdated systems communicate via a 2G SIM card and only with CMS. Recently, supporting 2G and 3G networks has become commercially non-viable for wireless carriers since new devices use predominantly 4G/LTE. Ajax offers wireless and hybrid hubs that support not only 2G but 3G/4G/LTE, and most hub models can be connected to two different wireless carriers' networks at the same time via SIM cards. Additionally, hubs also can be connected to Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Alarms and events are instantly transmitted and sent simultaneously to all Ajax system users and the security company to ensure a quick response to any threats.
Hubs with two SIM-card slots for reliable connection at all times
Up to 4 communication channels via Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and two SIM cards
9 seconds to deliver the first photo for visual alarm verification
Instant alarm transmission even without internet
Ajax solutions are suitable for any facility, even remote sites with unstable power supply, internet connection, and cellular network. In areas such as mountains, nature reserves, or deserts, the system can send alarms to Ajax apps and a central monitoring station (CMS) by connecting to third-party VHF radio transmitters through the Ajax vhfBridge. As a transponder, it enables an Ajax hub to transmit the system’s events and alarms via VHF radio waves over dozens of miles1, allowing for a quick and professional response. vhfBridge can be used as a primary or a backup communication channel.
Compatible with any VHF transmitters having relay inputs
Transmission of alarms and events over dozens of miles
Up to 75 hours3 of autonomous operation during a power outage
