Patented smoke chamber technology
Encouraged by world standards and best practices, Ajax reaches an entirely new level of technology in residential fire safety with FireProtect 2. A unique smoke chamber that is dustproof and impenetrable for insects, a dual-spectrum optical sensor, and a proprietary HazeFlow 2 software algorithm guarantee the speed and accuracy of fire detection — ultimate safety with no stress about false alarms.
Impenetrable for dust and insects
The smoke chamber is designed with zero possibility of contamination that can affect detection. A unique circulation mechanism provides the optical sensor with an unobstructed field to quickly identify products of combustion in the air.
The FireProtect 2 smoke chamber does not require regular cleaning.
Ignores сooking fumes and water steam
The smoke chamber is hardwired with a dual-spectrum optical sensor that has blue and infrared LEDs with different wavelengths. It uses the most reliable real-time detection method, directly measuring the microparticle concentration in the air. This technology allows FireProtect 2 to determine the size of the volatile particles inside the chamber and respond only to smoke, ignoring vapour and water steam.
Only real threats considered
In-depth research on materials combustion resulted in HazeFlow 2 — a smoke detection algorithm developed by Ajax. The algorithm contemporaneously analyses and compares data from the dual-spectrum optical sensor to a specified pattern to define smoke from vapour or steam. The detector instantly raises the alarm when pattern dynamics indicate a real case of fire.
Protects from invisible danger
Carbon monoxide (CO) is colorless, odorless, and otherwise imperceptible without a carbon monoxide detector, so poisoning can occur unnoticed. Even low concentrations can be enough to have a negative health impact, especially on those with chronic illnesses, pregnant, the elderly, and young children. High-level exposure can cause permanent damage or even death in a very short period of time. FireProtect 2 warns about a dangerous CO concentration at the level of 50 ppm before even the first signs of poisoning occur. A built-in chemical sensor is responsive to low concentrations and can accurately detect the CO level straight up to 10 years.

- 50 ppm in no more than 90 minutes
- 100 ppm in no more than 40 minutes
- 300 ppm in no more than 3 minutes
Even when it's fire without smoke
FireProtect 2 is equipped with two class A1R thermistors to detect smokeless fire threats. They give a significant advantage in detecting a rapid temperature rise when synthetic materials burn, or a fire starts from smoldering. Thermistors are located outside the enclosure to eliminate life-saving detection delays. So FireProtect 2 is ready to detect a fire as fast as possible, even if it starts imperceptibly.

Enhanced wireless interconnection
All FireProtect 2 detectors can synchronously notify about the fire alarm in two ways:primary and fallback. In case of danger, the initiating detector sends a fire alarm to the hub. The hub initiates the primary interconnect: all fire detectors will activate the built-in sirens in 20 seconds — three times faster than the fire standard requires. All information is immediately available in Ajax apps: initiating detector’s location, fire alarm type, and exact time.
If there is no connection with the hub, the initiating detector activates the fallback interconnection by directly sending the alarm to other fire detectors. It takes only 1 minute to raise an alarm.
20 seconds to activate up to 200 fire detectors
Less than a minute to activate up to 50 fire detectors
Unleash the Ajax power
The Ajax smart and complex ecosystem brings new standards to the fire safety industry. FireProtect 2 is ready to protect your home without an Ajax hub but can do even more when connected to it. Intuitive Ajax apps provide remote setup and all detector information in real-time from anywhere the Internet is available, on a smartphone or PC. With instant notifications, there is no chance of missing a fire alert, and scenarios let you automate fire security to enhance home protection while you’re away. A complete set with stable wireless communication — essential reliability tested over the years by nearly two million users.
Only with Ajax
Full monitoring for the building
The system instantly notifies about alarms with the critical alerts from the Ajax apps. Security companies and users know exactly which device triggered, when and where it happened. The system controls each device state and reports if there is a malfunction or it's time to replace the batteries.
The event log records 500 recent events within the system. The data is explicit with the device, time, and description of the event. It helps reconstruct the actual event and find the causes to obtain comprehensive information for firefighters or an insurance company.
Monitoring with PRO Desktop
With PRO Desktop, building administration staff can observe not only security but Ajax fire detectors for instant reaction to alarms. Device statuses, event log, batteries data — the CMS operator has a complete picture in one intuitive interface, all informative and centralized. The installation engineer can remotely change the settings and provide services in time.
Advanced automation for greater safety
Ajax fire detectors are a part of the Ajax ecosystem and can interact with automation devices and PhOD detectors of the MotionCam lineup through scenarios. In the case of a fire alarm, the WallSwitch relay de-energizes the house, and Relay activates emergency lights. At the same time, MotionCam (PhOD) sends pictures into Ajax apps to identify the cause of the alarm. The result is a reliable combination of security and automation that works as a Swiss watch.

Unique wireless technologies
The Ajax system uses two-way secure radio communication based on the Jeweller proprietary protocol. It supports block cipher encryption and device authentication on every session with the hub to prevent sabotage, spoofing, or data theft.
Ajax wireless technology has up to 1,700 meters of radio signal communication range in an open space, making it on average longer than competing solutions from different manufacturers. Automatic power adjustment makes it energy efficient by not using the maximum power of radio transmitters in system devices on a regular basis. It is also more stable, using less noisy radio frequencies. Ajax hubs use radio hopping to protect against radio interference and signal interception. The system automatically changes frequency within a band and notifies the security company and users about the jamming.

Scaled and comprehensive
For complex radio signal conditions like large houses with thick walls or warehouses with several buildings, there is the ReX range extender. It boosts the range of all Ajax devices and manages their communication with the hub via Jeweller. And ReX 2 assures stable communication even through steel and concrete via Ethernet using the wire as the additional communication channel. Up to 5 range extenders can operate within one Ajax system to expand the network twice as big, covering underground parking, basements, and metal hangars.

Fire sensors of the security system
Fire alarm system designed to detect fires, points in the room with high air temperature and smoke. These measures include an alarm system, fire suppression, smoke extraction, shut-off of supply ventilation and air conditioning to stop the spread of fire in the event of an emergency. What are the components of a fire alarm system
Fire alarm systems include sensors, receiving and control equipment, warning systems, communication channels, backup power supply, special software and other elements.Fire sensors are divided into four main types:
1) The heat sensor of the fire alarm system reacts to the presence of temperature changes. Heat sensors are divided into:- a) threshold - with a given limit of a certain temperature level, after which the sensors will be triggered.
- b) integral — respond to a rapid temperature increase. Due to the temperature threshold at which the sensor is activated, which is approximately 70 °C, threshold fire sensors have relatively low efficiency. The low cost of these sensors is the only factor affecting demand. Fires at an early stage can be detected with the help of built-in fire detectors. However, due to the fact that they use two thermocouples, one outside the sensor and the other inside, and the signal processing system is built into the sensor itself, the cost of such fire detectors will be high.
FireProtect 2 (Heat/Smoke/CO) — a wireless fire detector with smoke, temperature and carbon monoxide sensors
The FireProtect 2 (Heat/Smoke/CO) wireless fire detector is designed for quick fire detection. A dual-spectrum sensor can distinguish between smoke and water vapor. The thermistor quickly reacts to the burning of synthetic materials. The one-of-a-kind smoke chamber does not require frequent cleaning, and simple software reduces false alarms. All this complies with the latest fire safety regulations. The well-thought-out mounting and design of the sensor, as well as the settings via smartphone, ensure easy and quick installation of the fire sensor. A built-in siren for alarm and event notification is included in the fire detector. The FireProtect 2 (Heat/Smoke/CO) wireless fire detector can function both independently and as part of the Ajax security system. The sensor is available in two versions. Model with replaceable batteries and non-replaceable - RB and SB, respectively.
The principle of operation of the Ajax FireProtect 2 (Heat/Smoke/CO) wireless fire detector
Detecting smoke and not ignoring water vapor with the fire detector Ajax FireProtect 2 is possible thanks to a bispectral optical sensor with blue and infrared LEDs. LEDs emit light with different wavelengths. This allows the device to determine the size of the volatile particles and react to the smoke. The smoke chamber of the sensor is protected from external debris and insects. Dust does not threaten detection and does not damage the device, even if it enters and settles in the smoke chamber. Air particles or insects cannot be in two beams at the same time and cause an alarm due to the structure of the optical system. Two built-in thermistors are responsible for the response to the increase in temperature of the wireless fire detector. Thermistors are located outside the sensor for better threat detection. The sensor detects rapid temperature rise and sounds an alarm if the room temperature exceeds 64 °C or rises by 10 °C or more within one minute, even in the absence of smoke. In FireProtect 2 (Heat/Smoke/CO), a built-in chemical sensor with a service life of at least 10 years is responsible for detecting a dangerous concentration of carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, tasteless, and odorless gas produced when the fuel in heating engines and vehicle engines that use coal or other natural fuels does not burn completely. For example, it can be created through heating systems, boilers or fireplaces. In closed, sealed rooms with insufficient ventilation, life-threatening concentrations of carbon monoxide can accumulate. The interconnected fire alarm fire alarm function activates the built-in sirens of all Ajax fire detectors in the system if at least one of them has responded to the trigger. This makes it possible to notify as many people as possible inside the building in the event of a fire. The sirens of all FireProtect 2 (Heat/Smoke/CO) sensors can be activated in 20 seconds thanks to the advanced algorithm of the synchronized alarm.FireProtect 2 (Heat/Smoke/CO) sensors can be used without connecting to an Ajax control panel. In this case, the sensor notifies of fire alarms with a built-in siren and LED indication, but does not send a notification to the user's smartphone, Ajax Translator or the PRO Desktop application.
