The Air Alert app integrates psychological self-help techniques from the Ukrainian mental health program “How Are You?” initiated by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska. Special exercises and tips will help stabilize the emotional state during air raids, explosions, or other stressful situations.
From now on, the question “How Are You?” will be sent along with the push notification about the end of an air raid. Clicking on the notification will open the Psychological Self-Help Kit subsection with advice for adults, children, and veterans.
The subsection includes techniques for helping yourself and your children, games, exercises to stabilize your emotional state, and contact information of specialists. It also includes a manual with tips on supporting people with war experience.
When sirens or explosions sound, the stress level increases significantly. Therefore, materials such as “how to help yourself, a child, or a person next to you in a bomb shelter” should always be at hand.
Today, anxiety has become an everyday routine for all of us, and it significantly affects the mental state of people living, working, and fighting in Ukraine. That is why we are pleased to support the initiative that will provide people with tools to improve their mental health and help them to get through this difficult time more easily.
Unfortunately, our app has become one of the factors of anxiety in the day-to-day life of Ukrainians. So we started thinking about reducing this negative impact to support the nation's mental health. Adding self-help techniques is one of the first steps in this direction.
To view self-help techniques in the app, go to the Useful section at the bottom of the screen, select one of the topics, and click “More” to get the guide.
In addition to tips on mental health, a link to the LifesaverSIM game simulator, which allows you to learn first aid and tactical medicine, has been added to the Useful section.
If the app does not update automatically, please update it manually or reinstall it. Starting today, the update will gradually become available for iOS and Android.
The application was developed by Ajax Systems and Stfalcon with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. The «Air Alert» application has already been downloaded over 24 million times and is actively used by over 6 million users. It has become a convenient and reliable tool, informing about dangers in Ukraine. Currently, it provides warnings about missile strikes, artillery shelling, street battles, radiation, chemical threats, and important notifications from the Regional Military Administration and the Civil Defense of Ukraine.
